In a KTV room closed off to only her and Ran Xu, Yan Luoxi became the dominant singer, singing and drinking excessively as she vented out.
Ran Xu knew that she was feeling down but didn't stop her from acting recklessly. Only after such an all-out cry could the pain she had endured be completely removed and then gradually heal.
When Yan Luoxi finished causing a commotion, she vaguely wanted to go home. Ran Xu supported her out of the room; at the entrance of the bar, he turned back to say goodbye to the manager who was seeing them off. The dizzy and unsteady Yan Luoxi tripped on the stairway, but Ran Xu couldn't rescue her in time and could only helplessly watch as she fell.
Yan Luoxi's ankle twisted slightly when she sat down on the ground, and it hurt immensely. Ran Xu crouched to examine her injuries; however, she didn't struggle back and suddenly started crying uncontrollably.
The time was already late at night, with not many passersby around, but some still glanced curiously at them. Not wanting others to make fun of him, Ran Xu hastily picked up Yan Luoxi without further examining her injury and put her in the car before turning on the roof light to examine her ankle.
He examined it for a long time and found that nothing major had happened to Yan Luoxi's ankle.
All this while, Yan Luoxi had been very well-behaved, leaning against Ran Xu’s chest and crying all the way. On reaching the car, her tears flowed even more freely than before. Since he had rushed out in a hurry, Ran Xu was only wearing a shirt which his chest got drenched by her tears, making him feel as though his heart was burning.
This was the first time that Ran Xu saw Yan Luoxi looking so disheveled and weak; she usually appeared cheerful and stubborn before him. Even after witnessing something terrible just two days ago, she had tried to remain strong.
Seeing Yan Luoxi weeping like this made his heart ache so much that he didn't know what to do.
Yan Luoxi cried so hard that her body was trembling, and Ran Xu wanted to wipe away her tears and get her to look up. But as soon as she moved, she suddenly started vomiting, and before he could turn around to help, she vomited all over him in real-time.
After the vomiting stopped, Yan Luoxi became more alert but also dumbfounded; she looked at Ran Xu with a guilty expression, "I'm sorry..."
Ran Xu had lived a successful life for years and no one had ever treated him like this. His clothes were in a mess, the smell of vomit was thick inside the car, and the situation couldn't have been worse.
Seeing that Yan Luoxi had stopped crying after vomiting, he finally felt relieved. He took off his shirt and threw it to the side, grabbed some tissues from behind the seat, and cleaned them both up a bit.
Ran Xu asked her gently as he opened the sunroof, "Luoxi, shall we go home"
Sitting in the passenger seat, Yan Luoxi felt weak all over after vomiting. When she heard him asking this, tears welled up again in her eyes. Did she even have a home to return to
Having already lost face in front of Ran Xu, she was no longer afraid of another breakdown. She closed her eyes and fresh tears began streaming down from the corners of her eyes.
Yan Luoxi wasn't foolish; she knew why Ran Xu treated her so well.
This man not only had an outstanding appearance but also a gentle, considerate personality with impeccable manners. He carried himself with the grace of a gentleman and never made people feel pressured or uncomfortable. His calm demeanor was like spring rain nourishing her heart that was riddled with wounds.
She truly appreciated Ran Xu for being by her side when she felt most helpless and vulnerable, providing her with warmth and companionship.
Ran Xu's care touched Yan Luoxi; she was really moved, especially at such a weak moment when she couldn't help but want to lean on someone. Even if it were just for his shoulder or even though she didn’t understand what he saw in her.
She didn’t want to think about these things anymore, not wanting to question whether she had lost her mind. She was so exhausted that she felt like dying; she didn't know why this happened to her, with everything being difficult and full of obstacles throughout the years.
The affection she thought was a sincere love turned out to be the cruelest betrayal in reality.
Her career — there wasn’t much worth mentioning. After graduation, she hadn't been working seriously; even her tough entrepreneurial journey with Zhou Guangtao seemed like a joke now.
Her family — hah, these years she didn’t have a home at all. Now that she finally found a mother, the reality was she couldn’t rely on this mother either. Her life and her mother's were as precarious as hers.
Yan Luoxi was too tired, finding every step an arduous task. She was so exhausted she didn't want to think anymore; she just wanted someone reliable who could help her escape from this nightmare.
The next part of the events in Yan Luoxi's memory were hazy. She faintly recalled that Ran Xu took her back to his villa by the sea once again, and he whispered soothingly beside her ear, "Luoxi, we're home now. Get out of the car."
She opened her eyes; Ran Xu’s handsome face was inches away from hers, bare-chested. There were still nauseating odors from her vomit, yet this perfect, neat man had been tormented by her in such a way!
Yan Luoxi felt like her head was splitting open with pain; her nose stung, and her vision blurred as she helplessly leaned on Ran Xu’s chest, letting him do whatever he wanted.
When she opened her eyes again, Yan Luoxi found herself lying in a large bed at Ran Xu's home. She had become so familiar with this place after these two days that it didn't surprise her anymore.
She held her aching head and sat up, finding herself wearing the pajamas that Ran Xu had bought for her earlier. The pajama's hem reached only to her knees, and it was empty inside.
Yan Luoxi frowned slightly before understanding why Ran Xu had done so after seeing how terrible she looked when vomiting.
The LCD clock on the bedside table showed 5:00 AM. Outside, the lights were still on. She walked barefoot off the bed and quietly opened the door to see Ran Xu curled up uncomfortably on a makeshift single bed in her bedroom's hallway.
She tried to speak but her throat burned too much for any words to come out, yet tears streamed down her face again.
This outstanding man had witnessed her heartbreak, drunkenness, vomiting, and loss of composure. He had been there by her side the whole time, gentle and protective without any blame or disgust.
Yan Luoxi knew that whatever decision she made now would be wrong. She was very tired, hurt, lonely, and uncertain; she needed to cool off.
But she really couldn't bear the cold and found it hard to push away this source of warmth beside her.
She may not feel as passionate towards Ran Xu as she did for Zhou Guangtao, but she thought that was perfectly fine. A relationship depended on more than just passion; a steady stream could endure longer.
After the events of this night, both their mindsets had changed significantly. The next morning when they woke up, neither mentioned what happened last night, yet their words and expressions were unusually in sync. They spoke amicably with each other and offered kind companionship.
The two didn't rush to break the silence, but someone else did it for them. On the second morning, all entertainment media online, on TV, and in newspapers reported the news of Ran Xu and Yan Luoxi's revelry at a bar last night.o quickly and find someone special to him now. Although his methods were extreme, seeing how earnestly he pleaded with Yan Luoxi downstairs and the luxurious comforts around them made Gu Xiaobei belie...
