Zhou Guangtao now also regrets his past actions, but the situation has already occurred. He realizes that it's unlikely he can win back Yan Luoxi.

He made mistakes many men make and held selfish thoughts common among them. Although he had a relationship with He Yufan, he still harbored hope of keeping Yan Luoxi.

Zhou Guangtao grew up with Yan Luoxi since childhood, and he knew well what kind of person she was. A girl like her would be hard to find again. Occasional promiscuity outside their home didn't last long; it wasn't real.

When truly tired, he hoped that Yan Luoxi would wait for him behind the door and when he wanted to get married, he wished she could become his bride.

In the empty house, Zhou Guangtao walked around twice before realizing how unfamiliar this home had become. Ever since they moved in, almost everything was taken care of by Yan Luoxi.

Buying groceries, cooking meals, cleaning rooms, doing laundry... apart from sleeping at night and occasionally having breakfast, he hardly ever took part in anything else; he acted like a transient traveler.

Yan Luoxi, however, never had any household matters disrupt her. Regardless of whether she could argue or not, she silently shouldered everything. She worked every day yet spent energy and effort taking care of this home. She was more tired than him but never complained to him.

Without Yan Luoxi, the house was merely a cold and empty space; with her, it became a warm home.

Thinking about Yan Luoxi's heartbroken look not long ago, he felt icy despair seep through his body. Zhou Guangtao shivered, feeling pain, knowing that this time he might truly lose Yan Luoxi forever.

When Yan Luoxi opened her eyes again, another day had already begun. The sun was up, and warm rays streamed in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing the entire room in sunlight.

She blinked a couple of times, feeling somewhat disoriented by the unfamiliar surroundings before remembering what happened yesterday, causing a pang of pain to shoot through her heart.

How many times had she wished that everything from yesterday was just a dream and upon waking up, she would still be Zhou Guangtao's beloved Yan Luoxi

When Ran Xu appeared before her with slightly bloodshot eyes, Yan Luoxi knew that her life wasn't about to turn into a dream.

A sudden wave of melancholy washed over her heart.

"Luoxi, I made breakfast. Get up and have something to eat," Ran Xu's voice had a slight nasal quality to it, probably having caught a cold from sleeping last night.

“Oh, okay,” Yan Luoxi smiled slightly and got out of bed, moving freely to the bathroom to wash up.

In truth, she wanted to mourn her lost relationship but couldn't show any signs of grief in front of Ran Xu. She couldn't let herself be overwhelmed with sorrow or give into despair; not even crying was an option.

Because Ran Xu wasn't anyone special to her and she didn’t have the right to share her pain with him, she had to suppress and endure it all.

Yan Luoxi entered the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She seemed to have lost a lot of weight, her eye sockets were sunken, her complexion was dull, and her collarbones stuck out prominently, making her look listless.

She couldn't help but feel emotional as she thought about Zhou Guangtao and He Yufan. She took a deep breath, quickly washed up, tidied herself, and then went outside.

Ran Xu was standing by the window making a phone call; from his words, it seemed he had work to do today but was trying hard to avoid it.

Yan Luoxi turned around and saw that Ran Xu had prepared a豐盛的晚餐 (rich dinner) for her. She sat down at the table on her own and started eating heartily. Living with Ran Xu, she had already caused him a lot of trouble, so now all she could do was take care of herself.

Ran Xu hung up the phone, turned around to see Yan Luoxi eating, seemingly quite happy, and asked, "How did you like my breakfast"

"It was very good." Yan Luoxi raised her empty milk cup towards him. "If you have something important to do, go ahead. I can manage on my own at home."

"I... I'm fine," Ran Xu knew that Yan Luoxi had heard his phone call and felt a bit awkward lying.

"You should go then. I can really take care of myself at home. Besides, I need some quiet space to think things over." Yan Luoxi picked up her bowl again and started eating, taking small bites.

Ran Xu had an extremely busy schedule today; he'd already received several phone calls urging him to start work. Seeing that Yan Luoxi seemed in good spirits, hearing what she said eased his mind a bit. He gave her some encouragement words, then rushed out without eating breakfast.

The moment Ran Xu left in his car, Yan Luoxi could no longer pretend. She let out a sigh of relief and pushed away her bowl, sitting on the sofa by the side, looking blankly outside.

The weather was very nice; she could feel the warmth of the sun even through the floor-to-ceiling window.

Yan Luoxi couldn't understand why the same man whom she had known intimately and felt as familiar with as the lines in her own palm suddenly became strange and unrecognizable after they came to this city.

Today, when she found herself unable to think about him even once, she felt a bit disoriented. Yet, harsh reality told her that she could no longer have any connection with Zhou Guangtao from now on; she needed to adapt to a life without him.

As Yan Luoxi sat on the sofa in torment and distress, the doorbell suddenly rang, startling her. Mechanically thinking it was Ran Xu returning home, she got up subconsciously and opened the door.

"Ouch! Little sister, your sense of vigilance is so poor that you're not afraid of being robbed of both money and beauty" Li An stood at the door with a smug grin on his face.

The moment Yan Luoxi's head buzzed in shock, she instinctively tried to close the door. But how could the agile Li An allow such an opportunity

"Luoxi, is this your reaction upon seeing your second elder brother Did you think of Brother Guangtao"

Yan Luoxi's complexion instantly turned pale.

Leveraging Yan Luoxi’s desolate mood, Li An swaggered into Ran Xu’s house as if he owned the place.

"Sis Luoxi, why are you staying at Ran Xu's house If your Brother Guangtao is making you suffer, just come to my place. There won't be any problem there for you; you know that I always keep my door open for you..."

Li An did not move around the room but sat casually on the sofa, still chuckling as he looked at Yan Luoxi with tears in her eyes.as incredibly strong; she could not escape him.
