Chapter 43 Planning and Strategizing
together. The sight of this side of him was terrifying, but now she had nothing left to fear— the raging fire inside her threatening to consume her entirely."Let go of me! You pervert!" She struggled...Chapter 43 Planning
Lian firmly resolved that he must get Yan Luoxi in his own way and utterly destroy her, making those who once ridiculed him see with astonishment.
To destroy Yan Luoxi, he first needed to find her. Lian racked his brains for a whole day; the only person who could help him track down Yan Luoxi and Zhou Guangtao was Xin Zhiming.
Lian knew that it was futile to expect any news about Yan Luoxi or Zhou Guangtao from his parents and elder brother. His subordinates were also warned not to inform him of any information concerning them. The only hope he had left was Uncle Xin, who loved him dearly and wasn't afraid to go against orders.
He came to the Xins' house for recuperation, still looking despondent as before, lying in bed watching the sun rise and set every day with such a pitifully weak spirit that it infuriated Xin Zhiming's fiery temper.
"Lian, there are no shortages of women in this world. And you are so outstanding; good women should be flocking to you. Why are you acting like this over one little girl" Seeing Lian's lackluster state, Xin Zhiming was fuming mad, eyes rolling and cheeks puffed out like a frog.
"Uncle Xin, I can't bear it... I can't accept that she treated me as if I were snot. Even less than snot... I just want to find her and ask why she could be so heartless. Right now, all I want is to find her..." Lian looked at Xin Zhiming pitifully, his handsome face filled with sorrow.
Xin Zhiming deflated like a punctured balloon in frustration; Yan Luoxi was not hard to locate, but Brother Haonan had forbidden anyone from helping Lian.
Seeing that Uncle Xin did not give him a clear response, Lian continued with his pitiful act. He started drinking and eating less until he had lost so much weight that he looked like a mere shadow of himself in just two days.
Washing Zhiming helplessly watched as Li An's despair deepened day by day. He was anxious and restless, his heart heavy with worry about Li An’s state of mind, which seemed to be missing a vital part.
The second princes he usually saw were known for their wild antics, but Li An, in particular, was the ringleader among them. However, seeing how world-weary and despairing Li An now appeared made Washing Zhiming worry that if this continued, the young man might develop depression!
Washing Zhiming had never married throughout his life, indicating a lack of romantic sentimentality in his mindset. Seeing Li An's distress made him worried but he was at a loss as to how to comfort him.
Later on, when he asked his subordinates for advice on how to help young people recover from heartbreak, they suggested sending them abroad for a change of scenery, much like what happened in TV dramas and novels where characters would suddenly book a flight ticket to escape their troubles.
Washing Zhiming was sincerely concerned about Li An. Despite his dislike of flying, he gently proposed, "Li An, why don't I take you on an overseas trip"
With listless eyes and absent-minded expression, Li An shook his head. "I have no desire to go anywhere except for finding Yan Luoxi. In this lifetime, I must find her; I absolutely must!"
Now, he resorted to every conceivable method to strongly assert to Washing Zhiming that his mental and emotional issues were directly caused by the matter of Yan Luoxi in order to gain maximum sympathy and outrage from him.
Washing Zhiming deeply sympathized with Li An, but he also respected Li Haonan immensely. One day, upon returning home, he heard Li An crying alone in an empty room like a pitiful child.
After enduring countless attempts at persuasion and trickery from Li An, his heart finally softened. In a low voice, he said to Li An: "Li An, I can help you find out where Yan Luoxi is, but you have to promise me two things: first, once you know her whereabouts, you must return to your normal self and stop acting like this; secondly, under no circumstances are you allowed to cause any trouble for that girl or Xiao Zhou and Guangtao."
Lian, you know what kind of temper your father has. These years, he always does as he says without any change; if he finds out that I was the one who leaked this information to you, he will surely get angry with me.
"Uncle Xin, I knew it, you're the best to me." Lian An couldn't hold back his joy and sat up excitedly from the sofa. "Don’t worry, Uncle Xin, since you've been so good to me, how could I do anything that would trouble you!"
Xin Zhiming looked at Lian An's suddenly radiant face with some confusion, a feeling of being cheated slowly creeping over him.
The steel plate on Lian An's leg had been removed. He now knew the exact whereabouts of Yan Luoxi and Zhou Guangtao. This was a historic moment, a milestone event.
He was so excited he wanted to bang his head against the wall.
Lian An looked at the map near the city with some admiration for his scheming old dad; even if he racked his brains, he wouldn't have imagined that Yan Luoxi and Zhou Guangtao were hiding just across the river from him in another city.
He knew this was his last chance, so he could not afford to make any mistakes. He needed to carefully plan everything out.
Lian An is a smart person; after this failed relationship, he learned a lot and operated covertly on all fronts. His people didn't rush to find Yan Luoxi immediately but rather set up a small company under his brother's name as if they were starting over from scratch in a state of exhaustion.
Ziming Ming and the others knew about Lian An’s recovery and invited him out for dinner carefully, hoping to help lift the bad luck off of him.
This time, Li An did not snipe at them; he painfully agreed to their request. Since finding out about Yan Luoxi's whereabouts, his mood had been quite good.
He pretended to be busy in the company until very late before heading out. When he arrived at the restaurant, Ming Zixi and the others were already there. The hotel manager led him into a private room.
Li An was tall and straight, taller than the hotel manager by about a head's height. He wore a suit with a high-necked sweater underneath. His neatly arched eyebrows sloped upwards, his thin lips curved in a smile, and he had naturally captivating eyes that made people feel that this man not only possessed stunning beauty but also had an air of mischief or even demonism.
Shao Meizhuo and several young socialites sitting at their seats couldn't help but be stirred when they saw such an eye-catching Li An. Ming Zixi came over excitedly to give Li An a warm hug, saying, "My dear brother! You're finally free!"
Li An chuckled sarcastically as he pushed him away and said, "Stop pretending. If you hadn't annoyed me, I would have recovered earlier."
"Don't put all the blame on my head; who annoyed you, you know..." Ming Zixi suddenly stopped talking when he remembered Li An's recent behavior of turning sour at any mention of Yan Luoxi and cautiously glanced at Li An.
Li An seemed to not have heard his words as he walked over to the ladies with a warm smile, neither humble nor arrogant, greeting everyone politely.
It seemed that after this incident, this boy had truly changed. It was right; one must always look forward in life.e! She hasn’t slept or rested these days because of you; she looks like this!" Li Haonan said with a heart-wrenching tone, "Everyone says your mom has an eternal youthful appearance, but recently, bec...
